The Grenoble -Valence Higher School of Art and Design is a new public school of higher art education with its origins in the ties formed between the Grenoble Higher School of Art and the Regional School of Fine Arts of Valence.
The Grenoble-Valence ÉSAD regularly organizes seminars, lectures and presentations of all types of work (exhibitions, performances, concerts, projections,…). These events whose initial vocation is pedagogical are also the occasion to situate the school in the professional network of contemporary art and open it up to the population of Grenoble, Valence and the region.

activities and events
The Grenoble ÉSAD organizes workshops with guest artists, critics, writers and designers in addition to study trips in France and abroad. It regularly programmes seminars, lectures and presentations of work of all types (exhibitions, performances, concerts, projections,…) and actively collaborates with the cultural structures of the Grenoble conglomeration and its region in the organization of events. These events, whose initial purpose is one of pedagogy, are opportunities to further anchor the school in the professional network of contemporary art and to open it out to the population of the City of Grenoble and the region.
The Grenoble -Valence ÉSAD is part of the network formed by the four higher schools of art in the Rhone-Alpes region. In this capacity it favors inter-school pedagogical projects and the professional insertion of its graduates
post-curricular or extracurricular activities
Classes for children, adolescents and adults: an introduction to visual arts, drawing, painting, sculpture, engraving, watercolor, illustration, photography, volume-installation, history of art.
international cooperation
In the framework of the organization of studies, the eighth semester is dedicated to international mobility. Each student is invited to travel abroad and face the demands of the world through either a study trip, or an internship in a professional structure.
The Grenoble ÉSAD participates in the ERASMUS programme. Numerous partnerships with international higher educational establishments have been set up. Financial support is provided to students through different grants and scholarships: Erasmus, Explo’ra sup from the Rhone-Alpes region and OFAJ -the Franco-German youth office.

The Grenoble ÉSAD avails of two exhibition spaces: the Gallery of the Grenoble ÉSAD and the Xavier Jouvin Gallery (48 quai Xavier Jouvin, 38000 Grenoble) regularly present multidisciplinary projects from students and young artists.
specific equipment
The Grenoble ÉSAD has a range of adapted technical workshops: it possesses a complete set up when it comes to traditional techniques (drawing, painting, film photography, offset printing, plaster, earth, wood, metal), and also more recent techniques (digital technology applied to photography, video, sound, multimedia, CAD).
The Grenoble ÉSAD also has an amphitheater equipped for lectures and projections and a specialized library.
