about
Limoges ENSA: contemporary training since 1881
The Limoges ENSA is one of seven national higher schools of art in province. It is the successor to the École nationale des arts décoratifs created by Adrien Dubouché, industrialist and collector. It is home to a teaching that questions the relationship between contemporary creation and technology in the fields of art, design and ceramics. A member of the European ceramics department, since 2012 it has awarded a master’s level qualification and continues, like the ensemble of establishments of higher education in the visual arts, to position itself in the context of european higher education. The school continues to develop privileged partnerships in the field of contemporary ceramics within the context of the UNIC (Urban network for innovation in ceramics) Network and the activities of its studio for research and creation installed in the Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute (China).

post-graduate
Kaolin, international “art, design and contemporary ceramics” post graduate course
This high level training belongs within the international context of the globalization of artistic and inter cultural exchanges between Europe and Asia, through the two major spaces of porcelain production of Limoges and Jingdezhen (China). Under the direction of Michel Gouéry, invited artist of international renown, this postgraduate course is open, by way of exam, to 4 creators, DNSEP or Master 2 level graduates or their professional equivalent.
This one year programme proposes a strong individual and collective experience, founded on the acquisition of knowledge and the sharing of skills; allowing one to forge a ceramics culture in the specific field of porcelain and to elaborate an ambitious research project linked with the ENSA’s artistic and professional networks in France and abroad. To operate their research, artists benefit from a collective space and have access to the school’s range of pedagogical and technical resources.
For each session, the selected candidates define, in collaboration with the guest artist, the expectations and modalities of their research programme. They specify the rhythm, organization and objectives.
The ENSA covers expenses linked to production and distribution of projects, accommodation and travel fees in France and abroad.
